一、位置境域

位于東經(jīng)120°54′，北緯30°64′。地處桐鄉(xiāng)市北端，京杭大運河東側，西臨湖州市，北界江蘇省蘇州市吳江區(qū)，為兩省三市交界之處。

陸上交通有縣級公路姚震線貫穿鎮(zhèn)區(qū)，經(jīng)姚震公路可與省道鹽湖公路、國道320公路、318公路、滬杭高速公路、申嘉湖高速公路、乍嘉蘇高速公路相銜接。

烏鎮(zhèn)距桐鄉(xiāng)市區(qū)13公里，距周圍嘉興、湖州、吳江三地分別為27公里、45公里和60公里。鎮(zhèn)域面積71.19平方公里，建城區(qū)面積2.5平方公里。

二、氣候

烏鎮(zhèn)地處東南沿海，屬典型的亞熱帶季風氣候。溫暖濕潤，雨水豐沛，日照充足，年平均日照1842.3小時，具有春長秋短，冬冷夏熱，春暖秋涼，四季分明的特點。

一年中春季為78天，夏季為90天，秋季為64天，冬季長達133天。年平均氣溫16.1℃。1月份最冷，月平均氣溫3.6℃；7月份最熱，月平均氣溫28.1℃。
